Being an only child, a family medical emergency forced me to leave the Corbin/London, Kentucky area and return to my hometown of Whitesburg, Kentucky to look after my Mother and assist with rehabilitation post-surgery. Once she was stable and strong enough to no longer require round-the-clock care, I hit the job boards in Eastern, Kentucky and procured a Dietary Position with a relatively small long-term care HCO. After realizing my knowledge of Medical Administration, I was given the oppurtunity to further my education within the company and begin Nursing Assistant courses offered by that company. At this time, I have completed the course, graduated as the top scoring student, and have began logging clinical hours toward my Certification as a State Registered Nurse Aide. While I do find this position to be both challenging as well as rewarding, I feel that finding the perfect employment fit for me is still within the Healthcare Administration field-- Patient Access, Medical Billing, Healthcare Organization Administration that offers a future for myself and my work ethic.

What started as repairing broken electronics for friends and family quickly become more than a mere pass time. Great customer reviews and word of mouth gained a steady demand for myself and my knowledge of PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and web development along with other skills relating to technology. On my application to found my small business, I chose the name "Southeast KY Tech Solutions," because I thoroughly enjoyed my craft and felt that I could not only provide a service, but a solution for many Clients in need of technical guidance. After a year, my attention focused on the acceptance of Lead Computer Technician for a franchise store who offered similar servixes, without the responsibility of being an Independent Contractor, financially.

I began my work at ACS/Xerox as a Customer Service Specialist who recieved high marks for my understanding of the customer service experience and the ability to assess customer issues and provide accurate and easy to understand solutions. That understanding, as well as previous leadership capabilities, opened the door for the oppurtunity to work alongside training and development professionals to launch a newsletter for employees as well as implement great customer service skills into the very basics of the hiring and training of prospective candidates for employment.

In my opinion, my experiences and responsibilities during my 4 years at this company, helped shape the professional I have become.My employment with McKesson Revenue Management Solutions began as a Reimbursement Specialist (Level I) responsible for collecting Reimbursement on behalf of Physicians & Medical Groups in the firld of Radiology and Oncology, from insurance carriers, both major and minor (ex. Humana, UHC, Anthem, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.). As my level of experience grew, so did my case load. During my second year, I graduated from representing one, large radiology practice to two, with the second as large as the first, but many times more demanding, and was still able to provide excellent provider relations, so much so, that although no longer employed with McKesson, I currently still have personal friendships with the members of that practice.In my 3rd year, I was promoted to Reimbursement Specialist (Level III), as well as a Team Leader, directly responsible for a group consisting of Researchers, Accounts Receivable Specialists, Data Entry Specialists, Certified Medical Coders along with others. As a team, we were charged with the day-to-day functions of not only my original two, large practices, but an additional 10, smaller, but still demanding clients, with great success, I may add. However, even with a great team, I was still the point-of-contact for each of our Clients, responsible for meeting demands, deadlines, budgets & reporting of monetary gains and losses while still maintaining a positive reputation and provider relations. So why did I leave? I was promised better benefits and salary at ACS/Xerox from a personal contact there, even though after leaving McKesson, I found that my offer wasn't a 'corporately approved' offer, and proved to be a decision that I regret, even now.
