When Jesse discovered Parkour, it became the cornerstone in his approach to physical training. With over 10 years of experience training and teaching, Jesse has been a part of the New York community since it emerged and stands as one of the original practitioners in the USA. Drawn to Parkour by its utilitarian nature, he connected strongly with the founders’ “to be strong, to be useful.” Over this time he has broadened his understanding of the discipline to realize that the movements themselves are only a small part of what it means to be strong, and that Parkour’s true usefulness lies in the physical preparation and mental fortitude to see any challenge as an opportunity to better oneself. He constantly seeks out unconventional training opportunities and challenges that push him and help him continue to grow.Presently his focus is on expanding Parkour in the NYC and NJ public school system, with over a dozen schools either with established programs or requesting programming for the 2014-2015 school year.He has worked with numerous city organizations to present Parkour in a positive light to the public, including providing interactive exhibits & workshops for NYCs Department of Parks & Recreation, Transportation, and Education, The New Museum, The NY Hall of Science, The Discover Foundation Outdoor Rise Festival, the Institute of Play, and The New Yorker.Jesse worked and performed for numerous companies and teams in New York City, including NIKE, HTC, MTV, Yahoo, the New York Knicks, Nintendo, Speedstick, FiveTen, and The New Yorker. He also has been independently highlighted through the Wall Street Journal and Yahoo, and has appeared on multiple news channels through his work with The Movement Creative, The Brooklyn Beast, and NYPK.
