My name is Jesse Darling, and I am a Level 1 Apprentice in the Auto Service Technicians Program at BCIT. My goal is to earn my Red Seal Certification as a Mechanic and attain a job at Ford as a level 1 apprentice. I also have an "N" drivers licence. I am currently enrolled in the Level 1 AST program at Centennial. Here, I earned the top student in Engine and Drivetrain 12 at 92%. I have also earned Honor Roll 2 years in a row. I have worked at Showtech for 5 years as an inventory manager and lighting rigging technician. I excel in managing inventory and fixed audio and video lighting rigs. Being responsible in these areas has prepared me to be a hard-working individual in the automotive field. I love to work on cars and electronics, and this sparked my passion to pursue a career in automotive. I have a 1963 Ford Thunderbird at home that I am restoring. I am currently rebuilding the engine. I put brake lines, headlights, tires, rebuilt my brakes and am currently rebuilding my 390 FE Big Block Ford Motor. By taking on this project, I have learned how to work independently, solve problems and be self-sufficient. Although I am a good solo-worker, I can also thrive in a group on a project that needs to get done.
