Control Room Operator for Rayburn Energy Station. Unit is capable of producing 765 MW when duct fired. Unit consists of two Siemens SGT6-5000F(5) combustion turbines with two SGen6-1000A air cooled generators, two Benson Triple-Pressure Reheat Heat Recovery Steam Generators and one Siemens SST6 5000 steam turbine with a Siemens SG6-2000H hydrogen cooled generator. Controlled by Siemens Power and Process Automation SPPA-T3000 DCS.I was heavily involved in monitoring construction activities, walk down and turnover packages, start-up and commissioning activities.

Involved in commissioning, start-up and operating of Sandy Creek’s 957 MW Ultra Supercritical unit. Worked with engineering and commissioning groups such as Black & Veatch, IHI, Toshiba, Alstom, Graver and EcoTech on system specific troubleshooting, tuning and operations.

Completed a 3+ year, U.S. Department of Labor Operator Apprenticeship program. Worked in all areas of the 495 MW subcritical plant including: Fuel Yard, Outside (Auxiliary) Operator, and Water Treatment. Completed start-up and commissioning on a new wet scrubber that was completed and operational March 2011.
