Waukee APEX is a collaboration of passionate individuals in education, business and the community. Our mission is to be a catalyst for authentic professional experiences and the development of leaders who are highly skilled, adaptable, global innovators. Waukee APEX draws on the expertise of business partners to bring real world application into the comprehensive high school experience. Through inquiry-based learning, projects, and experiences, students add value to business partners while exploring interests and career possibilities identified by economic trends within our metro area and state. I currently lead the financial strand and its respective courses: Foundations of Insurance & Actuarial Science (FIAS) and Finance, Banking & Investments (FBI). Waukee High School

Large participation numbers have helped contribute to the team’s success as more than 150 girls in grades 9-12 signup annually to participate and represent Waukee on the track and in the field. Since 2002, Waukee teams have captured 12 conference championships and 14 regional titles.In regards to the state meet, Waukee’s team effort has been reflected by qualifying at least 17 of the 19 events to the State meet in each of the last nine seasons. Once qualified for State, the Warriors have been very successful. Waukee has medaled in events at the State meet 167 times since 2002 and have finished in the top seven at state as a team in 11 out of the last 13 years. They won the large school state championship in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018. They also captured the state team pentathlon championship in eight of the last eleven years. Additionally, 32 student-athletes have continued their track & field careers in college.Waukee’s recent relay successes at the Drake Relays and State meet have been unparalleled. Waukee girls’ teams have won 18 Drake Relays titles since 2006 and 21 state meet relays. Ten relays have set state meet records and of those, six also broke Iowa All-Time records. Waukee relays and individuals can be found nearly 50 times on the IGHSAU All Time top 25 list.Concluding, the Waukee Girls Track & Field program strives to build a team united in purpose, embracing that each athlete adds value by her efforts and character. Our focus is for each athlete, each day, to get better in some way. We aim to be our best when it matters most and aspire to inspire those around us by our words and actions.

Locust Street Securities (Equitable of Iowa, ING Funds, VOYA) was a Des Moines based investment brokerage. As an intern, I completed various tasks associated with managing client databases. I assisted in day to day new business processing for enrolling new brokerage clients in various investment firms' individual retirement plans. I also completed special projects that improved data integrity as well as tracking processes. My other responsibilities included processing client deposits, wire transfers, and documenting various fund transactions for reporting reasons.
