As Senior Vice President of the Ipsos Behavioral Science Center, I use my background in marketing and psychology to identify and impact nonconscious factors that influence consumer decisions. 15 years of experience inform my work. I earned PhDs in Marketing and Cognitive Psychology from the University of Florida. After, I was an award-winning marketing professor at the Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. My research has been published in top-quality academic journals and featured by CNN, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Throughout, I’ve shown that consumers’ irrational behavior has significant impact on market strategy effectiveness. I approach my work with three basic questions about the consumer: What are her goals and motivations? What does she think and feel, and why? And how do these interact with her context – where she is, who she is with, and how her choices are organized –ultimately affect behavior? With this, I help brands perform better research and create go-to-market growth strategies anchored in validated BeSci principles. This work has impacted innovation, communications, insights generation, and retail execution for Fortune 100 companies across a range of industries: retail, CPG, finance, tech, and healthcare.My classroom experience has made me a strong and creative presenter. I have enjoyed showcasing BeSci in a variety of formats – ranging from small groups of executives to public webinars. When facilitating, I take an action-learning approach, leaning heavily on Socratic inquiry, hands-on exercises and activities, and “in-class experiments”. I believe that by experiencing and doing, we learn best.
