My career started a little differently than most. At 16 years old, still in highschool, the youth pastor from church connected me with the owner of a machine shop. The company made ignition systems for the race Industry. I spent the first 10 years of my career figuring out how to be helpful in a manufacturing setting that was ahead of my skill sets. After starting my Masters program I realized I had out grown my position and the automotive industry was not where I would make my impact on the world. Like many people I did not have a plan for the transition to my new goals. I knew I needed work and rather than aligning my career with my goals I jumped into an industry I felt would pay the bills while I finished school. I have spent 16 years now in the HVAC manufacturing and construction industries and have grown to love it. Through a fair amount of failure and persistence I have developed, alone and with teams, projects ranging from fully automated facilities to industry leading products. Some of these ranging from wind tunnels and vision systems to the industries most efficient fans and centrifugal wheels.8 years ago I started Akhetian an engineering and investment company. Over 80% of the engineering business still comes from the Datacenter cooling design and forensics. Today I am so glad for the path I took and all of those who helped support and give me opportunities to prove myself along the way.
