I have a thorough understanding of soil chemistry, in-situ remediation strategies and GIS. As part of my consulting business I offer the services of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.I provide aerial imaging, photography and videography solutions from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or Drone. I currently use a 3D Robotics Solo as vehicle to operate visible light (VIS) and near infrared (NIR) cameras to map work sites. The end product of a flight is a high resolution, georeferenced, ortho-stitched map which allows for accurate measurments of length, area and volume. After processed it is possible to create a 3D model of a site or create a topographical / drainage map. By combining data from VIS camera and NIR camera it is possible to create vegetation indexes to assess plant health.I also provide aerial photography and videography services to showcase your property. I work in the Environmental Assessment Services group, and my scope of work consists mainly of contaminated site remediation and reclamation / rehabilitation. I've personally planned and managed a variety of Phase II ESAs - primarily focusing on electromagnetic (EM38 / EM31) site investigations, complemented by drilling / soil sampling. After interpreting the results I've designed remedial action plans and cost estimates and completed the Phase III ESA to meet client demands, ranging from dig-and-dump to in-situ remediation systems. Once the remediation is complete I've worked carefully to reclaimed sites to pre-disturbance conditions. Additionally, I've managed spill scenarios ranging from small packing leak / overspray to large pipeline and tank releases. Beyond planning and supervising field work, I've managed cost tracking, analytical requirements and written the applicable reports.Throughout my projects I've really focused on using GIS systems and software (Trimble/Surfer/QGIS/Pix4D) to increase the overall efficiency of operations. The ability to georeference all field work, use the data to create action plans, and then take the data back to the field creates a tremendously useful feedback loop and allows me operate effectively. I've taken this concept to the next level by investing in an unmanned aerial vehicle or drone, equipped with cameras, onboard computer and GPS capabilities, which allow me to fly a survey over a work site and produce high resolution, georeferenced orthomosaic maps and 3D models. The ability to have a real-time aerial perspective has proven to be invaluable in dealing with spills, site investigations and historic site rehabilitation. The UAV has a NIR camera along with a visible light camera which allows for multi-spectral (i.e. NDVI) crop health analysis.I push every day to better myself and the work I do. I believe the only way forward is through innovation and ingenuity.
