I find satisfaction in creating and maintaining a positive work environment where everyone has a purpose and a voice. I have had success in the manufacturing world by creating professional relationships with employees. Giving people a purpose, and drive to better themselves has been my recipe for training efficient and self-motivated personnel. There is a fine line in management that must be walked when it comes to maintaining the work environment. I always communicate my expectations and the consequences before delegating task. The chain of command must be followed, and subordinate management positions must speak with the same voice as myself. This prevents any confusion on what is expected. Communication is my number one priority in the workplace; followed by accountability. Employees need to understand that they have a job to do, and they are responsible for their assigned task. Failure to complete the assigned responsibility will result in disciplinary action. This is the only way to maintain efficiency and utilization. I am a strong believer in cross-training employees when time is available. Each business is unique, and I enjoy finding a balance of Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing that works the best.
