The simulator provides an exact replica of the KC-130J flight station with full motion and visual simulation that incorporates realistic weather, atmospheric, and aerodynamic performance conditions to instruct and evaluate pilots during basic, complex, and emergency situations.

Designated as a full profile, Functional Check Flight pilot, responsible for the testing and evaluation of all aircraft systems in the KC-130J. Functional Check Flights (FCF’s) are specific flight profiles designed to test limitations, proper operation, and integrity of avionics, navigation systems, power plants, safety systems, and air frame structure following specified and in-depth maintenance procedures.

Designated as an Assistant NATOPS Instructor responsible for conducting pilot performance evaluations and instruction in the principles of crew resource management. Within this role I developed flight profiles that simulate special and emergency situations for pilots to then apply established procedures in a dynamic and multi-crew transport aircraft in which I evaluate their performance and provide instructional debriefs. I also conduct training lessons to pilots, aircrew, and prospective instructors of crew resource management in the principles of risk management using the threat and error model to maximize safety and apply appropriate risk mitigation measures.

Overseas And East Coast, Usa

As aircraft commander, I'm responsible for the overall safe and effective employment of the Lockheed Martin KC-130J Hercules. Along with a co-pilot and 3-7 aircrew, we utilize practices of crew resource management in a dynamic environment to conduct mission sets such as aerial refueling, combat assault transport, expeditionary field operations, aerial delivery, and aviation delivered ground refueling.

East Coast U.S.

Completed training at The Basic School in Quantico, VA where U.S. Marine Officers spend 26 weeks in classroom and field exercises learning the fundamentals of leading Marines in basic military operations and warfare skills. This training was followed by student Naval Aviator training involving 6 weeks of classroom instruction on basic aviation skills and knowledge followed by 260 hours of flight instruction in high performance single engine and multi-engine aircraft resulting in designation as a Naval Aviator.

I was fortunate enough to be selected into the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Program which allows active duty Marines to complete a 4-year degree and accept a commission as an officer in the Marine Corps. While at Penn State, I maintained my status as a Marine by conducting training and course work with the NROTC unit as well as being enrolled as a full time student in the College of Earth and Mineral Science at Penn State where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering.

During 13 years of enlisted time in the Marine Corps, I was an Aviation Life Support Systems Mechanic on the Lockheed Martin KC-130. I inspected and repaired aircraft systems including pneumatic bleed air, gaseous and liquid oxygen, pressurization and air conditioning, and fire extinguishing systems utilizing mechanical, electrical, and computer analysis skills. Through my experience, I became a work center supervisor and aviation maintenance instructor which involved continually instructing, supervising, and mentoring personnel under my charge to ensure their skill progression and professional development allowed them to succeed and that they were ready to meet the mission requirements of the Marine Corps.
