Duties include but not limited to:•Complete engineering reviews of mechanical, physical, and dimensional Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) that is newly acquired by the U.S. Navy, and Foreign Militaries requesting support from the U.S. Navy. •Identify methods used to calibrate acquired TMDE, including the procurement of new calibration standards and the development of new procedures.•Identify, analyze, and mitigate safety hazards associated in the calibration and use of equipment and standards used.•Interface with fielding sites, manufacturers and program executives.•Determine facilities to support the fielded equipment, including traveling to testing sites to analyze the sites ability to sufficiently support the test equipment. •Analyze and recommend calibration intervals for the acquired assets based off of similar equipment, manufacturer’s specifications, extent of use, and conditions under which item is used.•Present findings and determinations to Metrology Program executives.

Supervised repair, calibration, and modification of test measurement and diagnostic equipment. Supervised 19 employees performing analytical measurements including inspections, alignments, troubleshooting, and repairs to laboratory standards, and weapon system peculiar equipment. Managed equipment inspections for preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and safety requirements. Directed equipment maintenance using theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics to isolate malfunctions to component level. Managed upgrade training of assigned personnel. Identified mission essential equipment and its impact on workload. Coordinated lateral support request, command certification and contract services. Provided training and assistance to apprentice technicians and customers.

Inspected TMDE for preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and safety requirements. Performed equipment maintenance using theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics. Isolated malfunctions to component level. Calibrated and certified TMDE to technical data specifications ensuring traceability to Air Force Reference Standards. Recorded and reported maintenance data; prepared technical order improvement reports, special training requests, training quality reports, and modification proposals. Tracked equipment warranties.
