I supervised editorial content creation within Vox Creative, the branded-content unit at Vox Media. The group's work ran across eight brands, Vox.com, Curbed, Racked, Eater, The Verge, Polygon, SB Nation, and Re/Code, and we made everything from articles to videos and content series for our clients.

I was a writer on the team called the IBM Newsroom. We produced ad materials and branded content for IBM to deploy on its owned channels and social channels.

I handled nearly all non-editorial operations for a startup digital publication. Before I became Tablet's publisher, I served as its executive editor from the time of its launch. I managed the design and development of its initial launch, and then I served as the day-to-day editorial supervisor.

In my off-hours of running a digital publication, I reviewed theater for the weekly newspaper. I typically saw about 120 shows annually and filed roughly 30 columns per year, in each column covering multiple Broadway and off-Broadway openings. I also voted on the New York Drama Critics Circle Awards and Tony Awards.

Together with the magazine's news editor, I was responsible for producing its weekly front-of-book news section. The job required a good news sense and an understanding of New York City culture, politics, and history; the skill to write catchy headlines and edit and rewrite for short space both deftly and quickly; and the ability to work well with photo, art, checking, and legal.

As part of the team that created the modern NYmag.com, I was the founding editor of the site's Daily Intel news blog. For its launch, I helped develop the blog concept, choose its name and look, and hone its voice. I then served as its editor and lead writer for the next year.

This was the iteration of the noted blog that was all about New York City and the media business. Together with a single co-editor, I produced 12 blog posts each day, a mix of gossip and humor and, occasionally, even journalism.
