Hello! I'm Jesse Botello, a passionate and dedicated school counselor deeply committed to supporting the well-being and development of youth, particularly those who are furthest from educational justice. With a strong belief in the power of education to transform lives, I bring my knowledge, skills, and a fresh perspective to the field.Currently, I serve as an elementary school counselor at Thoreau Elementary School in the Lake Washington School District. In this role, I have the privilege of working closely with a diverse population of students, teachers, and parents to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.Recognizing the importance of cultural competence, I embrace and celebrate the diverse backgrounds and experiences of my students. I strive to create an environment that values and respects cultural differences, ensuring that each student feels seen, heard, and understood. By understanding the unique challenges and needs of students from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, I tailor my counseling approach to meet their specific needs and provide equitable support.Building trusting and supportive relationships with students and their families is a key focus of mine.
