After nearly 30 years in the Nashville area, I moved back to my home state of Michigan in 2021 with my partner of 22 years, our teen son, and two feline overlords who are the best home-office mascots two remote-working professionals could wish for.I worked my first summer job at the age of 14 in a concert venue (because, Nashville), and I've done everything from dog grooming, to popsicle maker, to blackjack and roulette dealer - on my journey to my current role in the HR industry. Alongside many of these, I spent nearly a decade helping to run a non-profit organization's financial operations, while leveraging my empathetic nature toward the creation of a more inclusive and supportive environment for all involved.Perhaps I still don't know "what I want to be when I grow up," or I'm always looking for new ways to learn and grow, but my most energized moments in the workplace are when I am called upon to solve problems. Whether I already have the pieces of the puzzle or I have to unbox them first, my mind is wired to thrive when challenged.
