Lighting Design Solutions that are human-focused 👋 project-specific 🧐 and sustainably-minded 🌿

At Lumen Architecture I worked within a multi-talented, collaborative team of architects, designers, and researchers. We worked together to create architectural lighting that supports, as well as enhances the physical, and psychological perception of the space. We grounded those designs in the technical knowledge and understanding required to ensure the design functions and meets the needs of the clients. My Lighting Design background is built around an Engineering mindset which allows me to better ground ethereal concepts in reality, as well as let rigid ideas give way to expressive ones. Other strengths I brought to my position at Lumen Architecture include, but are not limited to:A high-level of client-facing aptitude; a love for efficiency in processes; a real passion for the AEC industry in an aesthetic, technical, and psychological perspective; a love for the fluid design process; and a fresh, light-hearted sarcasm.

As the manager of the lighting lab on CU Boulder’s campus I helped facilitate labs for graduate and undergraduate classes. Along with this responsibility comes reorganization, and optimization of the lab, its running, its inventory and equipment. I worked with professors to establish new equipment, new branding, and new systems to enable more autonomy in the future.

At AE Design I was put directly into the industry. I worked on projects ranging from electrical design on large-scale industrial warehouses, to full aesthetic lighting/controls design on vet hospitals. The AE group helped me learn about the whole of an engineering system. From ground-up sketches to electrical design; from transformer to receptacle. I was involved with site visits, and constructability meetings with architects and engineers which opened my eyes up even more to the workings of the industry.Achievements:-Full-scale site lighting to meet city codes and site aesthetics.-Residential electrical planning on luxury home.-Integration of lighting with decorative/interactive art lighting

Job doing a myriad of tasks including Excel, small amounts of graphic design, personal interaction while informing potential residents on the property and apartments, increasing knowledge on ledgers and accounting, use of many industry specific systems/programs including KeyTrac, Yardi and PopCard. Knowledge also gained in the workings of the maintenance systems in place by shadowing maintenance supervisor and construction manager.
