I have gained valuable experience working for top publishing firms in Kenya, beginning with Kenya Literature Bureau. Here, I developed essential skills crucial for the editorial processes in book and periodical publishing, which contribute to high-quality publications.I have also worked with Hornbill Publishers; a burgeoning publishing firm focused on publishing quality books; honing developmental editing skills, book layout and press skills. Having studied Literature, in my bachelor's degree, it profoundly shaped my critical thinking skills and fostered a deep reading culture, fuelling my passion for publishing and printing.Inspired by Frederick Douglass, the father of emancipation, who demonstrated how literacy and knowledge can liberate individuals from the chains of slavery, I recognise that in the 21st century, the enemy is illiteracy. Through publishing, my dream is to leverage the privilege of being part of the knowledge-sharing system. By ensuring that individuals worldwide have access to quality books and periodicals.I aim to positively impact lives and contribute to societal change.
