Initial focus after design was building capabilities to serve family companies and I partnered closely with leaders in Human Resources to build teams in multiple regions, partnered with Legal leaders to formalize contractual agreements with suppliers, service providers, and customers and very important I worked closely with product commercial leadership teams to ensure successful financial results. My responsibilities included operational efficiency and effectiveness in our facilities located strategically in 3 continents and leading automation initiatives thru EDI interfaces between suppliers and customers. Additionally, I outsourced IT production support ensuring system reliability and cost effectiveness. In a record 3-month period I deployed the operational platform for the division, from concept to go-live. Subsequently, led a seamless ramp up of volume and activity thru our facilities reaching our target capacity and exceeding performance agreements. As any operations, then my focus was to decreased operational and IT costs by using continuous improvement practices and automation gaining 30% savings. The initiatives required closed interaction with multiple suppliers & customers, which I managed to synchronize effectively for the benefit of the supply chain. Brightstar offers customized solutions including: value-added device and accessories distribution, supply chain solutions, handset protection and insurance, buyback and trade-in solutions and omni-channel retail solutions, and mobile digital solutions within the wireless telecommunications industryI transferred to the U.S. division to lead the integration of acquired and joint venture handset & repair businesses into Brightstar’s ecosystem. Led activities to implement buy back, trade in, test & repair operations in short deployment time frame and complex reverse logistics settings. The services deployed were for large retail and telecom operators in the U.S. My responsibilities included aligning the partnership to use best logistics practices and designed an optimized asset recovery practice to achieve financial and business goals. Additionally I cost-effectively run the handset repair business to meet customer service levels.

The enhanced footprint helped the region to surpass forecasted sales in 2010 and 2011. Challenges included restructuring operation/logistics organizations into shared resources in charge of operational excellence programs. Institutionalized best supply chain practices, re-designed performance KPIs and implemented operational rhythm to ensure customer satisfaction was consistently met. Diagnosed and implemented Supply chain solutions for operators such as IUSACELL, COMCEL, TIM, C&W, TELECOM PERSONAL and TELEFONICAMy responsibilities included operational performance for all the countries, a team of 2000 employees across the region. Worked closely with Managing directors to ensure positive results and growth in each country. I managed to save $5MM in operating expenses annually and outperformed the target providing the region record revenues and gross profit results.

Having a strong engineering department SQ1 boosted sales 40% within that year.My responsibilities included leading a team of 4 engineers, production teams with 70 employees and quality control. I led the implementation of new facility and deploy lean manufacturing practices. This initiative boosted productivity by 40% and ensured better occupational safety practices as well a decreased on waisted raw material. I influenced the leaders to invest in automated machines to ensure better quality in the product and consistency in the manufacturing processes.
