I specialize in news writing about science and technology, mostly in the physical sciences with the occasional foray into the life sciences and sustainability.Knowing where to find stuff is what I do. As an investigative reporter I search records and get to the sources that matter. I'm a problem-solver who never lets an un-returned phone call stop me. I cut my teeth covering local news in small towns, chasing down stories of local police and politics. I learned to read a quarterly report and later how to manage a newsletter, edit stories by new reporters, write headlines, plan layouts and commission art. In the wake of the financial crisis I pivoted to science and technology, bringing those reporting skills to a new crop of stories.After years as a journalistic entrepreneur, I would love to bring my skills and experience to a newsroom on a permanent basis.
