Publications: orcid.org/0000-0002-5056-538XI am a doctoral student in materials engineering passionate about research in smart materials.I am proud of my research and have taken opportunities to showcase it. While an undergrad, I was second author on a publication in Advanced Functional Materials (JIF: 18.8). The subject was developing a novel 3D printing method for thermoset materials via reversible crosslinking. As a grad student, I was second author on 2 publications in Advanced Materials Technologies (JIF: 7.8), and my co-workers and I have presented published our novel sensor technology to local industry partners at university-hosted events.My interest in materials engineering stems from my undergraduate research in Dr. Walter Voit's Advanced Polymers Research Lab, where I could cultivate my love of tinkering and learning. Seeing how fundamental science could be leveraged to engineer devices with real applications, I was motivated to attend Purdue University to continue developing smart materials for a variety of applications.In Dr. Miko Cakmak's research group, I currently work on flexible electronics based on composite polymer films. One example is a transparent, flexible transducer materials made by a novel processing technique that is demonstrably compatible with roll-to-roll manufacturing. They can be used to create force and pressure sensors, for example, to map forces under the foot for gait analysis, for pulse sensing, or for autonomous robot collision detection. Alternatively, the same material has potential applications as actuators, for example, in large-area speakers for immersive sound environments, or mounting on windows, walls, and device screens.
