Launched US distribution company for European product lines: Edelweiss ropes Salewa mountaineering equipment, Freeclimbing shoes, Markhill stoves, Stubai, and Cairngorm ropes. Designed tents, packs and sleeping bags and arranged production schedules with Chinese manufacturers. Managed purchasing and selling of products, inventory control, and accounting. Implemented successful marketing plan including print ads, trade shows, magazine articles, sponsorship programs and direct industry contacts. Negotiated marketing contracts with prominent climbing personalities; Jerry Moffatt and Jeff Lowe. Designed and tested successful line of climbing shoes for Spanish shoe company.
