Senior Engineer, Finite Element Analysis (Fea)
CurrentSenior role in a Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) team that provides simulation for new product development and continuous improvement of electric machines in Internal Combustion Engine, Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Electric Vehicle applications. Primarily responsible for scheduling, prioritizing and performing FEA tasks. Assist in mentorship and guidance of fellow team members in CAE. Additionally, responsible for development projects in the areas of CAE tools and product improvements.Responsibilities include:• Plan, direct and coordinate efforts of a global CAE Center of Expertise to meet customer requirements.• Support and assist in prioritizing and coordinating work load of team members and outside resources as-needed for group's function and overflow work.• Maintain visibility of workload schedule to the engineering organization.• Assist in evaluating CAE team's key metrics: quality of work, responsiveness, and communication.• Use, improve and create standard work processes for design and analysis activities.• Assess and coordinate training of CAE team members.• Develop CAE tools for component, subsystem or system design.• Develop simulation model calibration test plans.• Provide engineering analysis and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems as-needed.• Interface with customers on exploratory projects.• Innovate new designs in the areas of rotors, stators, thermal management and packaging.
