Video games are for anyone and everyone. That phrase first came to my mind came during my undergrad career at The University of Texas at Dallas, where I got to dive deep into how games can be made accessible to more players. My studies lead me to my first step into the games industry at the world-leading custom controller company, Battle Beaver Customs. While being a small company, Battle Beaver has a huge impact on the way players experience games by offering modifications that improve player performance in-game. I've gotten the pleasure of modding and testing various controllers made by Battle Beaver to ensure that they meet the performance standard set by company and player expectations. My time at Battle Beaver has led me to become a company Admin where I see to the day-to-day operations of the business. I help ensure that aspects of production, support, and ongoing project are moving forward so players can get controllers that fit their needs for various games. Even when I leave the office, I'm still thinking about games and how the industry can do more to push the medium forward. I'm always wanting to take on new challenges that will let me learn more about the industry while gaining more skills that help players get the most the medium of interactive entertainment. Video games can do so much from storytelling, artist expression, and being a benchmark for technology that is unlike anything, and being able to be a part of that process keeps me inspired to keep learning.
