Resident Music Supervisor
CurrentOversee the music design process, the build, implementation, and run of the 9-11 play/musical repertory, OSF Digital Stage, and New Works. Develop and implement industry standard practices and music processes for the musicals and plays-with-music. Recruit, audition, and contract all music personnel for the festival including musicians, subs, understudy musicians, music directors, composers, orchestrators, copyists, keyboard programmers and any additional music support. Manage inventory of instruments. Provide orientation and schedule management to orchestra managers, band leaders, conductors, musicians, music assistants, etc. Develop, manage and oversee $500,000 music salary budget as well as a $35,000 music department budget. Liaise and communicate with music publishers, theatrical publishers, and unions. Attend and participate in casting, national and local auditions, and season planning conversations. Advise on season selection. Evaluate and improve musical theater program, including structure, calendar, and process. Hire instructor and calendar/oversee music lessons as part of the health and wellness of the festival. Act as an extension of the producing office. Resident Music Director for Plays.
