Provide early intervention outpatient Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) treatment services which targets adolescents ages 7 - 18 years residing in West Contra Costa County. Services provided in schools, community, and at the clinic in order to promote a healthy community and reduce the harmful effects associated with alcohol and drug use. Co-developed the curriculum used in the Juvenile Behavioral Health Collaborative (JBHC). Collaborate closely with JBHC, Probation Officer, and other service providers. Attend weekly treatment team meetings discussing each client’s progress in the treatment program. Treatment services are individualized and built upon each youth's unique strengths and abilities. In addition to addressing drug and alcohol issues, community based, family centered approach explores other life domains such as the youth's living situation, family issues, education and employment, legal, medical, social and health concerns. The goal of treatment is to significantly reduce substance abuse among youth and to help them preserve or restore major areas of their functioning through therapeutic interventions, psycho-education, and case management. Emphasize the responsiveness of the program to provide timely intervention for youngsters and their families to maintain or restore their optimal functioning in the community. Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, provide AOD screening and assessment, psycho-social assessment, individual and group counseling, case management, and crisis intervention to adolescents.

Group therapy provided to six to eight campers and arranged into groups by developmental age. The population age ranges from 6 years old to 22 years old. Promoted additional facilitation and support within the group of eight children; making the staff to camper ratio 4/8. Psychologist was on site for direct supervision, as well as intervention. Utilized a formal curriculum, which has been designed by neuropsychologists to use experiential learning with clients in a naturalistic environment, to foster social and emotional competence. On each day of the two week sessions we weave the social skill teaching almost invisibly into the fun activities. Parents fill out extensive developmental questionnaires and clinical intake information on their child and provide the neuropsychologists with any assessments, school plans, or other relevant information regarding their child. Each camper has a one-to-one intake to go over parental goals and identify key areas for individual goals for each child.
