Experienced in instrumental & choral conducting; the production of full-length Broadway musicals; advanced piano tutorship and professional piano accompaniment; and advanced vocal coaching. Head (Chair) of the Department from 2011 to 2018, and from 2022. The Department of Creative and Festival Arts of the Faculty of Humanities and Education is a degree granting institution with five Units: Musical Arts, Visual Arts. Dance, Theatre Arts, and Carnival Studies. There is also an MA in Creative Design: Entrepreneurship and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Visual and Performing Arts). The Head is the overall budget holder. During the time of my tenure I have lead the Department through two Quality Assurance procedures, one department-wide audit and I had executive supervision of the building of the new Cheesman Avenue wing that houses the administration suite, dance studios, technical theatre and lecture rooms. The Head of the Department is the also the chief budget holder responsible for all fiscal matters as well as overall academic quality.I previously directed the National Sinfonia Orchestra (a community ensemble) and also the National Steel Symphony of Trinidad and Tobago; and currently conduct the University of the West Indies (St. Augustine) Arts Chorale and co-direct the UWI Arts Steel in domestic performances and tours to places as diverse as the United States of America, Barbados, Costa Rica, Suriname, China and Guyana; co-produced and conducted ten (10) full length musicals in Trinidad and Tobago and over 20 productions overall.Additionally, I was the musical director of the Town of Amherst Theatre in Performances in Japan (1989) and was the guest director of the Orquesta de Cartago with Liam Teague in concerts for the Credomatic XXI Music Festival in Costa Rica (2011).For this and other work I was one of the awardees of the University of the West Indies Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in 2016.

The NSSO uses the Genesis ("G") pan exsclusively and performs a wide variety of music: orginal compositions; Classical music transcriptions, Calypso andSoca, Reggae, Latin; and other types of world musics.The NSSO presents many concerts per year including a gala series in mid-year (Pan on a Higher Note) and has performed at Queen's Hall, Naparima Bowl, the Academy for the Performing Arts, and Daaga Auditorium, UWI; school tours; and many national events.
