Responsible for environmental compliance at a 55-acre steel mill in West Seattle as well as a 20-acre scrap and commodity storage yard and barge dock along the Duwamish River. Conduct third party audits of subsidiaries and sister-mills. Compliance aspects included all of the aspects of my prior employment as well as a Title V air permit, air emissions estimating and GHG reporting, NESHAPs, NSR, and NSPS.

Responsible for compliance with Federal, state, and local environmental regulations at 16 waste management and recycling facilities located in Washington, Montana, and Wyoming. Compliance aspects included stormwater and wastewater permitting, SPCC regulations, emergency response and contingency planning, hazardous waste, fire and building code, solid waste permits, and SARA (Tier II/TRI) and RCRA reporting. Provide environmental training. Coordinate with company management, regulatory authorities, consultants/contractors, operations staff, and third-party stakeholders to safely and effectively manage special projects.

Conduct hazardous waste compliance inspection and technical assistance visits to the regulated community. Improve the clarity, consistency, and accuracy of Ecology publications and regulations.

Conduct multi-media environmental compliance audits and due diligence (Phase I/II ESAs) at client locations throughout the US. Provide regulatory interpretation for “gray”/complex environmental issues. Develop site-specific, succinct, and easy to understand compliance guides. Prepare bids, negotiate terms and conditions, and manage projects to meet customer expectations while staying within budget and schedule and safely completing the job.
