I commenced my career in the construction industry in the domestic sector. I spent four years working for a private developer. I was exposed to all facets of residential builds, from formwork right through to landscaping. In 2009 I switched to the commercial sector as a Carpenter with Newstruct. Newstruct is a Melbourne based, award-winning construction company with over 40 years of operation in the commercial and domestic building industries.I quickly progressed into a Foreman role and began managing both staff and small fit-out projects. In early 2014 I was promoted to Project Manager with my new responsibilities including overseeing operations, undertaking estimating and tender reviews and driving new business. In this time Newstruct has seen a considerable increase in turn over. We have been nominated for a number of industry awards and in 2015 we completed the fit-out for the largest integrated project in Australia. In 2016 Newstruct was nominated for Best Specialist Contractor at the MBAV awards and won the Best Commerical Project over $500,000 at the AWCI (Victoria) awards. We followed this up to take out Best Project (Non-Residential) over $500,000 and People's Choice at the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industries (Australia and New Zealand) awards night in October 2016. In 2017 I attained my Registered Building Practitioner qualification (Commercial Builder Limited – Structural Fit Out CBLD). In December 2018 I launched FOXD: a construction business specialising in fit-out, ceilings, partitions and refurbishment. Drawing on my extensive involvement in the commercial industry, I have established a team of highly qualified tradespeople to deliver a seamless construction experience on any scale.
