I’ve enjoyed a very rewarding career in the media as an investigative reporter and TV News personality across East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast markets. Collaborating with teams of talented colleagues and professionals, I have been successful cultivating an identifiable professional brand identity across traditional TV and digital platforms—the notion in the mind of the viewer of “Jesse Jones, the Ultimate Consumer Wingman.” Providing a voice for the previously voiceless. Often speaking “truth to power.” We’ve been able to tell compelling stories and deliver a cogent message that achieves connection and impact, and, ultimately, effects positive change, and helps people. Through the years I (and my team) have been honored to be recognized with numerous awards, including multiple Regional Emmys, the NATAS Silver Circle award for 25+ years of distinguished service in broadcasting—and, currently, finalist for a Pulitzer Prize.I did not get into this business for the accolades. True fulfillment comes from being placed in a position to help people. Initially, it was more about assisting individuals in gaining traction with a consumer complaint. Eventually, it progressed to the bigger picture, where we would air a story, garner viewer interest, engender a groundswell of support, and ultimately, I would engage with key legislators to see new bills drafted, and new laws enacted. Typically, this would return power to the consumer, and in many cases, return significant funds to those who had been wronged. The common thread? Very simply, to relate to people from any background—and to build sustainable professional relationships, even within segments where one might assume there would be inherent friction. (For instance, the business community)—where I have been able to maintain trusting, positive, and productive contacts—simply because I earned a reputation as being honest, consistent, transparent, and fair. Today, I find myself newly energized and ready to take on a new challenge—seeking work in PR or as a lobbyist, where I can translate my ability to build relationships and convey a compelling message to a venue that may provide an opportunity to make an impact for people on an even grander scale. And…I welcome contact through LinkedIn. Let’s have a chat.
