Chief, Department of Rehabilitation Services at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), a tertiary medical center with 191 inpatient beds, supporting over 172,000 local and 508,000 beneficiaries throughout PACOM. Directly responsible for oversight of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Brace Shop, Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center, Physical Medicine, and Brain Injury Center. Provides leadership and strategic direction for over 100 civilian, military, and contract employees. Exercises fiscal management of a combined supply and personnel budget of over $10 million. Responsible for the provision of safe, high quality healthcare for all beneficiaries to ensure a medically deployable force. Serves as Regional Health Command-Pacific Physical Therapy Consultant, providing senior leadership and consultant service to physical therapy operations throughout the region to include Washington, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Japan, and Korea.

Tripler Army Medical Center, Hi

Serving as Chief, Physical Therapy for Tripler Army Medical Center, supporting over 172,000 local beneficiaries and over 508,000 supported Pacific wide. Responsible for the leadership, vision, coaching, and mentoring of 12 Physical Therapists and 20 Physical Therapy Assistants/technicians in a clinic that sees over 3000 patients each month. Provides neuromusculoskeletal evaluations for treatment for orthopedic, neurological, and surgical patients.

Deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan to provide outreach physical therapy services to front line soldiers. Supervised one technician and treated over 900 soldiers; developed wellness programs, and served as 3rd MEDCOM Physical Therapy Consultant in developing theater injury prevention policy.

Responsible for the management and direction of the Physical Therapy clinic in all areas (personnel, administration, quality improvement, patient care, etc.) with an annual budget of $110,000 and a staff of six. Staff includes a Navy Physical Therapist, four PT technicians (PTA equivalent), and one admin clerk. The clinic primarily serves the active duty Pentagon population and the DiLorenzo Tricare enrollees. Services include NMSE, manual treatment, modalities, orthotics, wound care consultation, and various wellness classes to include ergonomics and spinal stabilization.

In charge of managing and providing comprehensive rehab to consulted in-patients and out-patients. Have worked as acting Orthopedic section chief, Neuro Rehab therapist, acting Out-Patient Chief, and currently as Chief, In-Patient Physical Therapy. Responsibilities include supervision of three Physical Therapist and three PT technicians, clinical instructor for Physical Therapy students (8 wk. neuro rehab affiliation, outpatient ½ days), and development of outcome measurements for quarterly service performance improvement projects.

Outpatient referral based clinic serving active duty, geriatric, and pediatric orthopedic (post-op and conservative), neurologic, and work related dysfunctions. Wellness/Prevention instructor for aquatics classes (aerobics and rehabilitation), establishing fitness programs, functional back class, Parkinson’s and MS exercise class. Also served as sole in-patient therapist for 30 bed medical/surgical wards and 10 bed ICU ward, and managed one physical therapy ward technician. Responsible for documentation review and established aquatics program for entire physical therapy department. Created proposal for Phase II Cardiac Rehab program, which was accepted by the hospital chief and presented to JCAHO survey team.

Instructed FAST and ASEP classes to deployed soldiers stationed at Camp Doha, Kuwait. The FAST class focused on remedial math over twenty 3 hour class sessions.
