After graduation I volunteered at Tennessee Tech to assist the Formula SAE Team in completing the first car built in 5 years. While there I assisted advisors in laying a new foundation for the team that has lasted to this day.●Designed the 2014 TTU formula car's aluminum monocoque chassis, drivetrain, suspension, and rear wing so that junior members of the team could would not be a over loaded and could focus on design and fabrication of smaller components while also keeping up in their classes.●Taught students mechanical design to help them design components and to keep projects on schedule.●Designed an electronic paddle shifting system using linear actuators and a microcontroller separate from the cars ECU so that maintenance can be preformed easily.

As an engineer in the Safety Department at Cummins I was responsible for many thing in the factory with the safety and health of employees being the primary concern. During my internship I worked primarily as a designer identifying potential health hazards in processes used in the factory and would develop solutions to mitigate hazards.●Assessed and either designed or redesigned workstations to decrease the number of injuries, saving the company over $250,000 per year.●Interfaced with vendors on the design, construction, and installation of equipment keeping all projects on schedule.●Wrote job instructions.

In my first engineering role I lead efforts to ensure product lines kept running avoiding downtime and improving quality of Ceramic Products division O2 sensors and spark plugs.
