2Nd Maintenance Battalion, Motor Transport Maintenance Company

While on active duty and stationed in North Carolina, I was a Motor Transport Mechanic repairing and troubleshooting malfunctions on military vehicles. I moved into the administrative side of the company in 2010. I established, implemented and maintained a policy for a computerized tracking system of all parts being used and when to order new parts for inventory which is still in use by the entire Marine Corps today. While on deployment to Iraq I was in charge of quality control of the vehicles, maintaining 100% combat readiness and leading junior Marines in training and implementation of all daily responsibilities. While on deployment to Afghanistan I was on a security team and lead missions to ensure the safety of U.S. Marines and Afghanistan personnel.

My responsibilities included monitoring chemistry of product. Ensuring manufactured product is safe for consumption. ∙ Acted as liaison to management to ensure safety procedures are followed. Maintained a safe working environment for accident prevention. Established and implemented a policy to inspect the facilities for proper protection and safety regulations. Saved the company millions of dollars by reducing down time, workers compensation and insurance claims. Therefore casuing the company to receive insurance rebates for creating a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA.
