* My role as Project Manager for the Austruss modular construction division namely, Auspod involves tendering, designing, constructing, delivering and installing modular bathroom pods. The process involves coordinating a range of trades to initially design and build a prototype pod in the Austruss facility. Full production follows soon after with project management and quality control the focus to deliver a high quality product to schedule fully compliant with all regulations and standards.* During the second half of 2015 I successfully delivered 16 bathroom pods for a aged care facility at located at Gordon, on the upper North Shore of Sydney NSW. The 16 bathroom pods were the most complex constructed by Austruss to date, being double stacked on the outside of an existing building.

* Steel frame Draftsperson at AUSTRUSS designing light weight framing and facade systems for a wide range of buildings from residential projects through to education, healthcare, aged care and government projects.* Have undertaken the role of drafting manager managing a team of 4 draftspeople at the time.* Estimating, providing alternative designs in the AUSTRUSS system aimed speeding up the construction process and also reducing the cost of construction.

* The AusIMM Illawarra Student Chapter currently has committee comprised of 11 students studying either Mining, Materials or Environmental Engineering or Geology supporting over 150 Illawarra Student Chapter members.* The Chapter organises and runs several field trips each year, Student Meet Industry Nights (SMIs), The New Leaders Conference and Mining Games trip, BBQs and other activities to provide industry exposure and engagement for our student members.* As President my role involves leading my committee to organise and run the events mentioned, develop the yearly budget, lead meetings, stay in touch with other student chapters, keep a close relationship with The AusIMM Illawarra Branch and gain sponsorship.

* Chose to run for The AusIMM Illawarra Student Chapter Treasurer after volunteering on the committee for 18 months. * Learnt so much about the financial management this type of organisation such as invoicing, remittance, claiming expenses, budgeting, GST charged for sponsorship vs. donations.* I organised and ran a very successful 5 day field trip to Tasmania in July 2013. The trip engaged 10 students into a range of mining operations, visiting 4 underground hard rock mines and 1 open cut iron ore mine. This was the first trip to Tasmania in many years which meant I had to start from scratch making new connections with the operations. This field trip was re-run in July 2014 and again very successful. * Overall this role was extremely rewarding and I am very fortunate for the opportunity.

*Design and engineering of structures.*Drafting of structural, architectural and civil projects.*Communicate with clients, builders and architects to understand and meet the project scope.*In depths understanding of various structural design procedures through the design of steel frame buildings and structures.*Competent in the use of Microstran, structural analysis software.

* Completed 12 weeks professional experience required as part of the Bachelor of Civil and Mining Engineering.* Undertook the Whitehaven Coals 3 week clean-skin induction program which incorporated the Mines Rescue Underground Induction.* Worked on-shift in the Mains Development Panel for around 4 weeks. My roles included roof bolting on the continuous miner, hanging and reclaiming vent tubes, hanging and reclaiming cables, assisting electricians and fitters. I also was lucky enough to do a few shifts on the Long Wall. * Worked in the Technical Services Department as a vacation mining engineer. I was assigned several projects including optimising gas drainage drilling (which was aimed around interpreting drill data to provide reasoning for fluctuations in drill time and cost), long term mine ventilation planning (modelling the mine ventilation system into the future to determine when and where additional intake ventilation shafts will be required). I also assisted the ventilation officer with vent surveys, updating the current vent model and gas testing. * Overall this was an extremely valuable experience which vastly broadened my understanding of the underground coal operation.
