MY EXPERIENCE & TRACK RECORD:My career in fundraising and organizational advancement thus far includes more than 30 years of demonstrable success with leading educational, human service, healthcare, mental health and religious institutions. Highlights include personally cultivating, soliciting and closing more than $35,000,000 in major gifts and grants, and directing six capital campaigns, all of which reached their goals, and four of which oversubscribed their goals by significant margins. In aggregate, these campaigns raised more than $320,000,000. One of these efforts - The Campaign for The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, Philadelphia - raised more funds than did nearly 20 similar efforts in other communities nationally at the time.I have extensive experience partnering closely with and coaching chief executives and leading volunteers to envision, execute and optimize the role of philanthropy in advancing strategic imperatives. A "people person" to the core, I have strong interpersonal, management, written and oral communication skills. Specific areas of expertise include capital campaign planning and direction; major gifts cultivation, solicitation, closing and stewardship; board development; relationship building across multiple constituencies; management that empowers colleagues; event conception and planning; and nurturing and enhancing organizations' culture of philanthropy, be it nascent or long-established.MY VALUES AS A PERSON AND A COLLEAGUE:I believe every day is an opportunity to grow and learn.
