I am an educational leader that strives to be unnecessary. I am passionate about building team capacity that enables others to achieve goals and sustain success with or without me. The ability to inspire and grow others led to the successful implementation of a school-wide action plan aimed at improving school performance which resulted in an increase of 21.6 points within its first two years and eventually achieving a “C” school report grade for the first time in school’s history. During my tenure as assistant principal from 2014-2018, graduation rate increased from 51% to 83%. Within 3 years, my strategic approach to improving our graduates’ strength of diplomas moved our high school from being ranked at the bottom of the district to being ranked #1 in 2016-2017 for number of college credit hours earned through CLEP testing (with our students collectively earning 324 hours that year—the highest in the district.)I believe in empowering teams through diversity and am devoted to closing achievement gaps by addressing educational inequity. Though I have a demonstrated history of problem-solving, leadership capacity, and professional development, I am a life-long learner that continues to push myself to grow everyday.
