About Jessica Gramp

I am the Moodle Community Manager with oversight of the moodle.org sites that are used to support the Moodle Community and it's many contributors, as well as helping to found Moodle Academy, the learning hub for the global Moodle community. I lead the team who manage the registrations, sponsorships and program for the annual MoodleMoot Global conference with an annual attendance of over 700 Moodlers from around the world. I work alongside a team of talented Moodlers at Moodle HQ.At the University of Edinburgh I was service operations manager for the Online Course Production Service and led a team of instructional designers who developed short, online courses. In 2021, my team launched a MOOC on 'How to create an online course'.I started a small business in 2019, running ABC Learning Design workshops, project managing an Erasmus+ project with 12 universities across Europe and working with UCL Engineering to help them shift to fully-online learning at the beginning of 2020.As UCL Digital Education Advisor, I led a team of learning technologists who supported and co-developed online and blended learning courses. I have worked on a wide range of e-learning projects to effect institutional change and have shared this work at a number of UK and international conferences. I helped develop the UCL E-Learning Baseline, which sets the minimum standard for the online presence of every taught module at UCL and worked with colleagues to setup the UCL E-Learning Champions network.I led several projects to inform e-assessment practices at UCL’s London and international campuses.In 2014, I developed the prototype of the Moodle MyFeedback report, which allows students to compare grades and feedback for assessed work from across all their Moodle courses.I am a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a 2018 graduate of the University of Edinburgh's MSc Digital Education. I hold a Bachelor of Multimedia from Griffith University and a Master of Project Management from USQ.My diverse educational background, coupled with more than a decade working in the education sector has provided me with a strong technical foundation, supported by a solid understanding of project management and pedagogy. I use these skills to communicate effectively with developers, educators, their support staff and management. I learn new systems and processes quickly and I enjoy working on challenging projects in diverse teams. I am motivated to help people better understand the potential of learning technologies to improve the teaching and learning experience.

I was promoted to E-Learning Facilitator in January 2012 and became responsible for working with departments to improve their e-learning provision and advise upon and influence their e-learning strategies.
