About Jessica Gramp
I am the Moodle Community Manager with oversight of the moodle.org sites that are used to support the Moodle Community and it's many contributors, as well as helping to found Moodle Academy, the learning hub for the global Moodle community. I lead the team who manage the registrations, sponsorships and program for the annual MoodleMoot Global conference with an annual attendance of over 700 Moodlers from around the world. I work alongside a team of talented Moodlers at Moodle HQ.At the University of Edinburgh I was service operations manager for the Online Course Production Service and led a team of instructional designers who developed short, online courses. In 2021, my team launched a MOOC on 'How to create an online course'.I started a small business in 2019, running ABC Learning Design workshops, project managing an Erasmus+ project with 12 universities across Europe and working with UCL Engineering to help them shift to fully-online learning at the beginning of 2020.As UCL Digital Education Advisor, I led a team of learning technologists who supported and co-developed online and blended learning courses. I have worked on a wide range of e-learning projects to effect institutional change and have shared this work at a number of UK and international conferences. I helped develop the UCL E-Learning Baseline, which sets the minimum standard for the online presence of every taught module at UCL and worked with colleagues to setup the UCL E-Learning Champions network.I led several projects to inform e-assessment practices at UCL’s London and international campuses.In 2014, I developed the prototype of the Moodle MyFeedback report, which allows students to compare grades and feedback for assessed work from across all their Moodle courses.I am a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a 2018 graduate of the University of Edinburgh's MSc Digital Education. I hold a Bachelor of Multimedia from Griffith University and a Master of Project Management from USQ.My diverse educational background, coupled with more than a decade working in the education sector has provided me with a strong technical foundation, supported by a solid understanding of project management and pedagogy. I use these skills to communicate effectively with developers, educators, their support staff and management. I learn new systems and processes quickly and I enjoy working on challenging projects in diverse teams. I am motivated to help people better understand the potential of learning technologies to improve the teaching and learning experience.

I was promoted to E-Learning Facilitator in January 2012 and became responsible for working with departments to improve their e-learning provision and advise upon and influence their e-learning strategies. I helped to establish the E-Learning Champions network, where we identified academics and teaching administrators in every UCL teaching department to form a network of staff who could collaborate and share their e-learning practice. I founded the Digital Literacies Special Interest and Working Groups, bringing together staff from across professional services and teaching departments to work towards a more unified approach to supporting digital capabilities development of both staff and students. I promoted initiatives to help departments deliver teaching enhanced by technology. I presented at academic committees, departmental staff meetings and both internal and external events. I launched the E-Learning Champions Newsletter in 2013 to disseminate E-Learning news to faculty members and co-authored and edited this monthly e-newsletter with several colleagues. I worked on various improvements projects in the areas of e-assessment, digital professionalism, Moodle development and communication.

I was responsible for supporting the institutional Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle). This involved training staff and inducting students to use UCL’s e-learning systems. I also supported other e-learning systems and was the lead support contact for e-assessment, web conferencing and the UCL Wiki (Confluence). I was responsible for migrating the e-learning website from a Dreamweaver managed system to the Silva Content Management System. I also managed a project to deliver secure e-examinations across the university. This involved developing processes and guidelines, as well as designing and delivering technical support for staff. I co-ran the UCL CMALT mentoring programme, supporting several UCL Teaching Administrators and academics to become Certified Members of the Association of Learning Technology (CMALT).

I also provided support to these clients when required. My role involved the installation, development, testing and maintenance of RedDot CMS. I assisted with the submission of various bids, both in Queensland and in other states of Australia for web development work using Microsoft SharePoint, OpenText LiveServer and RedDot CMS. I also performed a business analysis role on other projects and led the structural redesign of a large government council’s website.

As the sole developer and programmer at Somerville House I was responsible for the planning, implementation, development and maintenance of the School’s Intranet. The Project Management of the Intranet was managed in co-operation with the School’s ICT Integration Officer. My role also involved designing and delivering technology skills training for teachers and students involved in the School’s laptop program.
