I will be responsible for residential, commercial, and construction bid business in the Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky territory! While I have to learn all new product and quotations systems, the upside is I get to retain all my customers I have been calling on for years!

Back to outside sales I go! This is a nerve racking yet exciting move for me. I am definitely comfortable with being a lighting representative. I love working a project from design spec phase, through build out, and then of course seeing the end results. I was a rep when I worked at Jonz Lighting some years ago and am now a more experienced and seasoned professional. My time working in the utility world and being a distributor has better prepared me to provide good customer service and support to contractors, distributors, engineers, architects, and end users.

Here we go. Myself and two other industry experts started a company last year. It is based on environmental energy conscious materials and processes. In our experience we found that something was missing. We currently are General Contractors, LEED AP B+D, Certified Energy Manager, Energy Engineer and last but not least National Indoor Air Quality Product Specialists. We fight everyday to educate the construction community on the most efficient and technologically advanced products and processes. We are a WBE and a member of WBENC.

With Energizing Indiana contract up at the end of this year, I was faced with the question, "what do I truly want to do?" While learning about the utility rebate and energy conservation programs was exciting and definitely an insightful experience on a different side of our industry, my passion is in the lighting industry. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to look at a position at Wesco doing just that. I feel at home doing lighting takeoffs, layouts, and working with manufacturers representatives and various other tradespeople to find the best solution for each application. The greatest aspect is I get to do this from Evansville. I will be working closely with a team of project specialists to bid projects and work with global accounts. I get to use my background as a lighting representative and controls specialist, as well as, my new knowledge with demand side management programs to give the most efficient products with the quickest return on investment.

Southern Indiana

I am now taking my lighting experience to the energy side! I have always been interested in energy, going green, being sustainable, etc, but now I am in charge of working with other Hoosiers to make it happen! I am currently trying to educate any commercial and industrial company/electrical engineer/contractor/facility manager on how to upgrade their site to be more efficient and how to get the maximum rebate available from their energy provider along the way! This matters because A) it saves energy and minimizes the footprint of the companyB) it helps the company save money on overhead expenses! Which could in turn, possibly lead to an increase in jobs somewhere else in the businessC) Stimulates the construction industry which in turn not only keeps jobs in existence in Indiana, but generates additional jobs in the processD) Helps facilities upgrade their sites at a lower Return on Investment scheduleEveryone is happy! And I am equally as happy helping all of the above reach these goals!

As a specification sales person, I call on Architects and Electrical Engineers in the states of Indiana and Kentucky and introduce them to the latest and greatest lighting products that the manufacturers I represent have to offer. It is my goal to educate them on the performance and appearance differences and advantages of my products with the hope that they specify my products on their next project!Our specialty is schools with our most well know project to date Evansville North Junior and Senior High Schools. We do a fair share of the work for the EVSC, but also do a lot of work in the Bloomington/Jasper/Vincennes area.We have most resonantly acquired a few new lines and been awarded an expanded territory which includes Louisville, Lexingtion, bowling Green, Hopkinsville, Madisonville, and Paducah!On top of the outside sales portion of my job, I also head up marketing and promotions for the company which has me doing more industrial work with factories, facilities, and hospitals. I am aiding them in utilizing all the federal and state tax rebates and deductions as well as working with the energy providers on custom rebate programs!I am currently working on my LC which I will take this fall, and am hoping to sit for my LEED certification next year!
