I am passionate about supporting families who care for people with disabilities. My endeavour to make a positive social impact in this space involves co-founding a technology start-up called sameview, which is an online platform for disability care coordination.

Responsible for the preparation and delivery of lectures for Masters of Engineering subject ECTE916, Distribution System Reliability, covering modelling, system analysis, economic analysis, NEM regulation, planning, design, maintenance, operations and reliability improvement strategies.

Accountable for development and delivery of corporate and regulatory strategy for the Asset Management division, including: • Shaping and implementing regulatory strategy for Ausgrid’s 2024-29 Regulatory Determination;• Supporting development and delivery of refreshed organisational corporate strategy, including alignment with regulatory strategy;• Leading development and delivery of key strategic initiatives including Climate Resilience Strategy, Net Zero Strategy, Distributed Energy Resource Integration Strategy;• Coordinating and delivering key components of the regulatory proposal relating to the capital expenditure forecast, including prioritised portfolio development; and• Driving customer and stakeholder engagement on key strategic initiatives to facilitate successful delivery of Ausgrid’s regulatory proposal.

Responsible for developing and leading a team to deliver new capabilities in investment strategies that deliver a safer, smarter, sustainable future network. Achievements include:• Development of industry coordinated climate resilience and net zero strategies, including climate impact assessments and business response strategies informed by customer, government and industry stakeholder engagement;• Development and delivery of Ausgrid’s annual CAPEX investment portfolio (~$500million per year), including risk analysis, needs analysis, portfolio prioritisation, and delivery capability;• Driving regulatory positioning including coordinating organisational and industry responses to rule changes (eg AEMC system strength, AEMC fast frequency response, AEMO wholesale demand response implementation)

Responsible for leading a team with wide scope to maximise value and utilisation from Ausgrid’s asset base and to enable investment decisions in Ausgrid’s future grid. Responsibilities and achievements include:• Creation of Ausgrid’s network modernisation strategy to maximise return on investment from Ausgrid’s existing asset base;• Embedding innovation into the planning and investment process. This requires selection and trial of new solutions, stakeholder engagement (Board, regulators, industry bodies, advocacy groups), development of planning, investment, and technical standards, and creation of investment decision making frameworks. Recent projects include stand-alone power systems, microgrids, community batteries and dynamic connection agreements;• Managing Ausgrid’s customer connection policy and frameworks to adapt and improve customer and Accredited Service Provider interactions with the changing network environment;• Utilising my technical and business expertise to advocate key regulatory changes including: IPART reliability standards review, AS4777.2 review, AEMC Mandatory primary frequency response, and AEMO DER minimum technical standards;• Technical governance of network power quality and asset ratings for risk management and utilisation.

Responsible for managing a technical team that delivers reliability and network performance strategy, analysis, and project identification. Also includes responsibility for maintenance of whole of network equipment ratings and operating limits, and quality of supply. Achievements include:• Leading the team through business transformation, including implementation of changes to team structure, processes and resource spread to maximise efficiency, while maintaining the ability of the team to continue delivery of functions into the future.• Creation of improved whole of network reliability strategy and STPIS management.• Delivery of improved outcomes for customers and for the network in the customer connections process, including provision of power quality allocations, assessment of network reliability impacts and assessment of ratings impacts for customer connections. • Reliability compliance and investigation functions, in line with our jurisdictional Licence Conditions requirements;• Advocating changes to the National Electricity Rules to ensure industry best practice, and ongoing organisational compliance in power quality;• Development of standards, processes and systems to deliver thermal ratings for all network equipment.

Responsible for Ausgrid's core aspects of customer delivery, includes:• Customer strategy - includes customer research, engagement, development of new customer strategies that will increase customer satisfaction and drive new market opportunities;• Customer and stakeholder engagement - includes community consultation functions relating to major projects, stakeholder engagement to align regulatory strategies to key customer segments (eg. vulnerable customers, life support customers); and• Public Lighting - management of Ausgrid's whole of network public lighting functions.Also includes management and transformation of core customer operational functions (contact centre, cost recovery, claims, complaints, B2B processes).

Responsible for the development and implementation of critical customer services to improve each customer's electrical network resilience. This includes understanding critical customer business operations, analysis of network issues, customer engagement, and development of technical and non-technical solutions.

Responsible for the implementation of new project delivery models for major substation projects to adapt to a changing commercial environment, achievements include:• Development and delivery of tender documentation, including technical specifications, to deliver the first external design and construct (D&C) major substations. Development and delivery of a successful communications, change management and union consultation strategy.• Development of internal governance strategies for major project investment. • Implementation of a programs to capture costs more effectively across complex projects. • Identification of cost savings initiatives with major substation construction projects (savings in the range of $mil).

Responsible for the management and performance of the Substation Design group in Sydney (25+ staff) through the peak of Ausgrid's 2009/14 (~$8bn) capital works program. The Substation Design group provides professional design and specialist services in the areas of electrical design, project design coordination, substation and equipment layout and substation design standards.

Responsible for the delivery of detailed transmission and distribution network protection designs, with a focus on technically complex projects.

The Australian Power Institute’s (API) mission is to support the development of future professionals in the power industry. API engages with students from kindergarten to university level. Activities include education, STEM advocacy, scholarships, work experience. API’s mission also includes improving the diversity of professionals at all management levels within the power industry.

The Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA) is a technical committee of Engineers Australia. Its mission is to support the growth and continuing professional development of engineers in the electrical industry via technical content delivery including: publications, webinars, knowledge sharing and networking events, and conferences.
