MASTERS COACH/ASSISTANT COACH SENIOR GROUPTNAQ Masters is a club for lap swimmers, fitness swimmers, triathletes, and competitive swimmers. Our team includes students, UT faculty, and all sorts of people from the greater Knoxville community looking for a great workout. The mission of Tennessee Aquatics Masters Swimming is to provide opportunities for participation in U.S. Masters Swimming events to the greater Knoxville area, while providing quality coaching so that each athlete may improve their swimming technique and endurance, according to their individual fitness goals.ASSISTANT COACH SENIOR GROUPThe Senior group is for our most advanced and committed athletes, with comprehensive training for higher level competition. Most of these swimmers are preparing for college swimming. This group has more training sessions per week, including refined technique, race pace swimming, strength work and cross-training modalities.

As the head coach of FHSSDT, I work with high school athletes with a variety of different skill levels. The core responsibility of this role is to meet and exceed the interscholastic sports mission of promoting learning and fostering the educational value of athletics. I create and implement training plans that incorporate progressive technical swim training, with life lessons such as self-discipline, persistence, goal setting, confidence, being a team player, and finding the joy in the mundane.Key Accomplishments:Assessed athlete’s strengths and weaknesses with performance, and identified areas for improvementInstructed athletes on the fundamental skill of creating and assessing smart goals – has led to not only a greater interest in the sport, but directly translated to improved time for every athlete on our team.Trained team captains on their role of team leadership, and gave them a louder voice. The core responsibility of this role is to support the board of directors, in the implementation of seasonal training plans. I am responsible for overseeing and improving the technical and physical skills of each athlete, as well as provide a fun and enjoyable environment, that introduces young athletes to competition while encouraging young people to strive for excellence in daily workouts.

I began my tenure as an Accounts Payable Coordinator to rapidly advance through multiple specialized roles in recognition of exceptional capabilities. In each role I have held, I worked to facilitate the ongoing success of the agency. I was promoted to a dual project management role in October 2016 covering both creative team, and operations team. I managed the creative project life cycle of numerous business-critical initiatives. I defined and established project scopes and budgets. I helped our accounts team to manage client expectations throughout entire project life cycle, I planned and facilitated regular meetings to gauge project progress; initiated corrective actions if projects fell behind schedule.Select accomplishments include: •To date, amassed a diverse portfolio of delivered projects that have consistently met or exceeded expectations.•Conceptualized and spearheaded implementation of an innovative process flow that allowed for early planning and decision-making. Vastly improved efficiency.•Played an integral role in developing an internal system for travel booking; yielded thousands of dollars in savings. •Successfully created and implemented internship programs within the company. •Continuously sought out, identified, and acted upon opportunities to drive continuous process improvement. •Designed and implemented a robust process of accounting approval practices; resulted in less billing errors.

I directed cross-functional teams in daily office operations. I managed special projects as they arose. My efforts were focused on creating and maintaining staff and physician schedules and serving as primary point of contact with respect to patient questions and concerns. I also monitored and maintained office inventory. In this role, I ensured HIPAA and insurance compliance across the board.

As a swim instructor, I provided valuable knowledge and applied swimming and water safety skills. The core responsibilities of the position are having certifications by the American Red Cross for swim instruction as well as a certification for CPR, and being familiar with their practice and safety standards, adapting teaching approaches to age, experience, and ability of the participants, providing for the health and safety to all participants, covering swim lesson level course objectives, and communicating regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress. I taught age ranges from 7 months old-adults, I also specialized in teaching children with autism.As the Mighty Marlins coach, I worked with a wide age group from 8 and under to 15-18 age group. The core responsibilities of this position was to provide personal and social development for lifetime skills, develop and improve the technical and physical skills of swimming, provide a fun and enjoyable environment, to orient young people to competition, bring energy and enthusiasm to competitions, and encourage young people to strive for excellence.

As a counselor my core responsibilities were to prepare activities and lessons for up to 30 children, to provide personal and social development for lifetime skills, approve and assign curriculum: arts and crafts, learning games, physical activities, vocabulary builders, etc., and to solve disagreements and unruly situations quickly and effectively. The most important part was doing all of this in a way that was fun and engaging with the kids.

I worked with college students to sell educational books to families in their homes. We worked 80+ hours per week on straight commission across the country from our homes. In the end we learned discipline, perseverance, determination, and good all-around life skills.
