As a manufacturing engineer, I am driven to positively impact my company by improving individual processes, procedures, tooling, machines, etc. to increase quality and productivity while reducing waste.I established a reputation as being a creative, analytical professional who finds “outside the box” solutions to complex problems while managing multiple projects to fruition. Much of my impact has been identifying failures, performing root cause analyses, and determining how failures affect overall reliability/effectiveness by gathering data, performing value stream mapping, identifying the critical path, understanding stakeholder requirements, performing failure mode and effects analysis, and designing computer simulations.

Radiological Engineer & Environmental SpecialistConsolidated Nuclear Security, Llc Apr 2010 - Jan 2023Oak Ridge, Tennessee, UsThis has been a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my capabilities while working out of the Y-12 National Security Complex. During this time, I impacted operational/process efficiency by identifying potential problems, providing solutions, and creating process improvements for handling radiological/chemical properties issues related to the transport/disposal of waste. My position involved use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Project and VBA as well as SharePoint, SAP, and Adobe Professional. Plus, I wrote technical reports, white papers, and procedures to optimize procedure compliance and I used Microsoft Excel to perform complex calculations and create automation programs. Contributions include: • Completed a large-scale project performing a system dynamics overhaul of Waste Management Plans (WMP) developed by Waste Engineers to provide instructions on managing/packaging radioactive and hazardous waste. My success resulted in developing a more efficient WMP system model with a computerized platform that automated the WMP System, reduced variation and reliability, minimized mistakes, reduced cycle times, increased throughput (boosted production by 50%), and achieved significant cost savings. • Key contributor on a Six Sigma effort that redesigned/improved Y-12’s Waste Management & Certification Program by identifying organizational problems, creating/implementing improvements, writing new SOP’s, and providing training to coworkers during the program’s transition and cultural change. • Implemented process improvement that produced millions annually in cost avoidance by developing a simplified method to determine if materials were considered hazardous waste by using statistical analyses and linear regression on thousands of data points. • Surpassed expectations and earned Merit Bonus Awards for overall performance. Earned recognition for expertise from senior management and have taken on leadership roles over more tenured colleagues. -
