Client Centred Work:• Counseling and working along women dealing with substance and gambling addictions. Touching on the different phases and emotions surrounding their recovery journey, withdrawal symptoms and after care plan to promote holistic healing• Establish and maintain counseling relationships characterized by courtesy, warmth, genuineness, empathy and concreteness• Meeting clients’ needs through a knowledge on various addiction recovery models including abstinence and harm reduction • Collaborates with client to address behaviors that they define as inconsistent with recovery • Working alongside women to enhance their motivation and readiness to change by effectively applying skills such as rolling with resistance, being empathetic and supporting self-efficacy • Working with client to develop coping strategies to deal with challenging circumstances• Manage conflict between clients and client challenges to promote a productive and supportive recovery environment • Crisis intervention pertaining to physical and mental health crisis. Working with clients to create responsive, non-invasive crisis intervention when possible.• Facilitation of group activities and discussions surrounding various topics related to women centred recover, relapse provision and goal settingAdministrative Tasks:• Administration of client medication• Responsible for client case notes and documentations of all activities on shift including: duty to report as it pertains to child welfare and criminal involvement• Records all client and related professional interactions in an objective and accurate manner that reflects organizational protocols, established regulatory practices and record keeping guidelines • Assisted with implementation of new programing• Facilitates an interdisciplinary team environment to ensure best practice for each client• Responsible for training and mentoring students
