Middle School Science TeacherLester Prep Jun 2019 - Jun 2021Memphis, TennesseeI worked as a 6th and 7th-grade science teacher and 3rd-5th grade interventional math teacher. By the end of the first quarter, I had the second highest student test scores out of any teacher at my school. When my students took their science national growth test at the end of their first semester with me, their results showed 10.8 months of growth within a four-month period. During the third quarter, I co-founded an after-school program for girls at our school, The Heroic Girl. The Heroic Girl grew to around 20 dedicated members throughout the quarter. My co-founder and I worked to empower our students with the tools and skills they needed to be leaders in school, at home, and in their personal lives through open discussion, confidence building, and bettering the local community.
