• Oversee and conduct multiple research and evaluation projects at a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center providing high-quality information on the well being of children, youth, and families with the aim of improving policy and practice through research, data collection, analysis, and synthesis, and communication with a wide range of stakeholders. • Work with scholars, federal, state, and local governments, and strategic communications specialists on research and evaluation projects on child welfare, child trauma, parenting, and early childhood.• Design and execute studies with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods design, including longitudinal randomized controlled trials.• Serve as Co-Principal investigator on the Early Head Start Child Welfare Study (EHS-CWS), a longitudinal randomized controlled trial study following child welfare outcomes of children in Early Head Start prenatally through adolescence.

Direct the evaluation of two child trauma grants:• Massachusetts Child Trauma Project (MCTP), a state-wide initiative funded by the U.S. Administration for Children and Families to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) to improve outcomes for children in child welfare who have experienced trauma.• University of Massachusetts Medical School Child Trauma Training Center (CTTC) initiative funded by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network to provide trauma-informed trainings to child serving professionals to improve identification of trauma and increase trauma-sensitive practices when working with trauma-exposed children.• Manage and supervise project teams consisting of data staff, research associates, research coordinators and faculty in the development of work plans, study designs, analysis plans, data collection instruments, grant applications, and project deliverables.

State-based child advocacy organization serving as the Massachusetts Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America. MassKids' current focus is to prevent physical child abuse through the work of the Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Center. MCC is the lead agency for the Massachusetts Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership and staffs the Enough Abuse Campaign - a statewide public engagement initiative to educate and mobilize parents, professionals and communities to prevent child sexual abuse.

• Conduct research on risk and resilience, child maltreatment, maternal depression, and other issues that impact the well-being of young children and their families.• Co-PI on a grant funded by the Administration for Children and Families' Children's Bureau to examine resilience to child neglect as part of a fifteen state randomized controlled trial study of child welfare involvement of Early Head Start families.• Project Director of a longitudinal randomized controlled trial study funded (RO1) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to examine child welfare involvement among 3,001 children who enrolled in Early Head Start in the mid 1990s. • Generate written products (research-to-practice briefs, technical papers, compendia) and web-based content, offer staff training, and provide evaluation services for the Office of Head Start’s National Center on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (NCPFCE), an initiative to promote research-based practices on parent, family and community engagement in Head Start and Early Head Start programs.• Evaluate Brazelton Touchpoints professional development, a relationship-based training model for individuals and organizations working with young children and their families.• Develop and disseminate written products, including empirical papers, book chapters, grant proposals and reports, and research-to-practice briefs on early childhood.• Serve as a member of the Expert Work Group and Technical Work Group for the Early Head Start National Resource Center as a representative of NCPFCE.

Chosen as one of two national QIC-EC dissertation fellows in 2010.
