I have 4 years of experience working in the clinical laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Scientist where I have been a generalist. I have had the opportunity to work at a small community hospital and now am working at a large Cleveland Clinic facility. Both organizations have provided me with valuable experience that has helped me grow in this career. Staying calm under pressure, paying attention to the small details, and in depth critical thinking and problem solving that I can now use in all aspects of life. As an MPH candidate close to graduation, I am very interested in infectious disease, due to my MLS background, and also STD transmission rates in young adults. Throughout the program and an internship at Allegan County Health Department my skills and passion for public health have grown. I am confident in my ability to take on leadership roles, think critically to solve problems and make connections in order to improve population health.
