My research centres on vegetation dynamics and the role of climate, plant functional traits and scale. Therefore, I combine process-based modelling, data and advanced statistical analysis. At present, I am working in the EU-funded project FirEUrisk on the integration of climate data, vegetation dynamics and fire modelling to gain deeper insights into wildfire risk. My current study analyzes past, present and future trends in fire hazard across Europe.
