Duties:Contributes to team environment with DOE ESS&H and other contract employees in the Safety Analysis and Review System (SARS). Assists in annual safety and health inspections of chemical laboratories.Performs decommissioning of projects by identifying safety hazards/concerns and recommending mitigation/control efforts. Serves as a project lead on special projects. Reviews and edits documents for accuracy.

Conducted safety training and new employee orientations.Assisted in developing an employee handbook for facility employees and contractors.Organized and assisted in safety recognition events.Interfaced with all levels of company management. Provided effective training to over 1,200 employees on safety, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, fire, asbestos, hazard communication, confined spaces, hearing conservation, fall protection, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, and hazardous materials.Developed and implemented a Hazard Material Review Procedure for new chemical purchases.Managed facility-wide safety and industrial hygiene programs for the Engineering Department, Maintenance Shops and Power House.Lead compliance initiatives for Asbestos Control, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, and Confined Space Rescue.Quantified and reported employee exposures to health and physical hazards in the workplace utilizing real time and integrated monitoring equipment. Developed/ implemented effective controls to reduce exposures. Contributed to Contractor Safety Program and Emergency Response Teams. Assisted Engineering Department on new chemical approvals and hazardous waste management.

Assisted site Safety & Health Consultants in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of health and safety hazards found in coal-fired power stations.Conducted new employee/contractor indoctrinations.Revised safety/health programs -- Fall Protection, PPE Assessments, Ladder Safety, and Respiratory Protection.Led efforts to develop Occupational Health Air Sampling Methods Manual.Conducted annual safety compliance training/weekly safety talks.Performed facility inspections.Assisted sites in achieving/maintaining OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star Status.
