As a professional musician for the past 15 years, I have performed with many orchestra in the Pacific Northwest, and am currently a tenured member of Spokane Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra, and am Assistant Principal Viola of Yakima Symphony Orchestra.After going through a divorce and relocating to Spokane, I wanted to learn a new skillset and have more opportunities to help others and use my natural compassion and healing gifts. I was able to use my time during the pandemic when I was unable to perform music, and I became a licensed massage therapist. I now run and manage my own massage therapy practice located downtown Spokane. I had acquired many pertinent skills running my own business as a private music teacher, and was able to translate most of these to my massage practice, and have learned even more along the way. I have loved learning about marketing and sales, and especially connecting with others, which is my true passion.After some near-death injuries from a fall in April of 2023, I have had to change my expectations of myself and how much physical and emotional energy I can exert in my life and career. I am still so passionate about performing, teaching, and massage therapy, but I also have different physical and emotional endurance than I did before these injuries. The life of a musician is dynamic and rewarding, but lately it has felt chaotic, and I am craving more stability in my life. I am also always looking for new challenges and new skills that I can learn to stay marketable and engaged. I am very excited to be pursuing a professional certificate in Back End Software Development and the job opportunities this could bring.
