I work with veterans to research PTSD, growth following trauma, coping strategies, and cognitive changes over time. I have spent the last two years working in a research lab dedicated to studying posttraumatic growth, or the positive psychological changes that can occur following trauma and stress. I am also deeply involved in research into dark personality traits, such as narcissism, and their relations with victim blaming in sexual assault, perceptions of death, trauma, and adaptive qualities. I also research cross cultural differences, social support for children and adolescents partcularly with animals, and terror management theory. I also am active in a number of volunteer roles in the community to encourage mental health in veterans and underprivileged areas, as well and science awareness and public health.
