Internal Tools @ RetoolRetool Dec 2021 - Jun 2022San Francisco, California, UsWondered, "Why do we not have deployed engineers for ourselves at Retool?" And started doing that.- Created and ran internal build sessions. https://twitter.com/jesstyping/status/1514984824519409669- Created a new hire onboarding class where everyone builds a Retool app, whether or not they've coded before. https://twitter.com/jesstyping/status/1527650064805638144Collaborated on projects with the Marketing, Community, and Workplace teams. Projects included:- Eng blog posts: Helped bring the total count of eng blog posts from 1 to 4. Initiated, researched, and wrote a post about incident management tooling, and built a sample Retool application customers could integrate to put the advice into practice. Drove the publication of two other eng blog posts by playing the roles of project manager and technical writer. One was written in 1.5 weeks (to accommodate a hard deadline from the main engineer on the project); the other hit the front page of Hacker News. https://retool.com/blog/author/jess/Post 1, Incident management: https://twitter.com/jesstyping/status/1491468210264227841Post 2, done in 1.5 weeks: https://twitter.com/jesstyping/status/1503822374948544517Post 3, Hacker News front page: https://twitter.com/jesstyping/status/1516510318461083649- First company hackathon: Initiated and participated on a team of three to organize Retool's first internal hackathon. Created an internal survey to gauge the impact. The majority of responses highlighted that it helped people meet and bond with coworkers they don't usually work with.- Community tech talk: Stepped up to fill a gap on the Developer Advocate team. Created content for and delivered a Retool Community tech talk on the "Temporary State" feature in Retool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yVNoKBRr4E -

Contributed my first open source code. Added the Gutter API to Atom, which unlocked building features like "run test inline" into Atom. - Issue: https://github.com/atom/atom/issues/5038- PR: https://github.com/atom/atom/pull/5217Mar 2013 - Nov 2014: iOS (Mentions, Product Infra, Newsfeed).
