In this role, I collaborate with Talk About It, Mate by conducting therapeutic art sessions towards the community. The project we are conducting offers the community to learn new skills and creatively form a healthy outlet towards combating their mental health, or even finding further help whilst gaining friendships and creating stronger bonds in the community. The sessions create a safe space for others to alleviate loneliness and isolation by bringing the community together, cultivating a cultural identity by bringing vulnerable individuals together and spreading awareness of the area's uniqueness locally. From this, there is a shared community story, which inspires reflection, forms connections that transcend differences and strengthens the community's core values whilst helping one another.
