Hello! I'm currently a Computer Science student at Western Nebraska Community College, where I’ve just wrapped up my first year with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. I’ve been honored with an award for Outstanding Academics (the only one in my department!), was nominated for the S-STEM Scholars program, and am a recipient of a NASA Space Grant. On campus, I stay busy as the Treasurer of Phi Theta Kappa, an active member of the Math and Science Club, and a participant in the STEM CONNECT Program.Over the past year, I’ve been honing my skills in Python, Java, C++, and SQL, which has sparked exciting new interests—particularly in AI, automation, algorithms, and data management. I’ve also started diving into cybersecurity, exploring tools like Kali Linux, and learning how to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities. I enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems through code and finding ways to optimize and secure workflows with technology.Professional GoalsAs a student, I am always exploring new opportunities that align with my interests and goals. While I’m not actively seeking work or internships, I’m open to the right opportunity. I’ll need to relocate next year to complete my degree, and I’m excited to see what options arise during the 2024-2025 academic year.I take pride in writing clean, organized code and maintaining thorough documentation, which I believe are essential for collaboration and long-term project success. My programming style is iterative: I start with a simple, working version of a program and build on it through small, incremental changes. With each step, I debug and test to ensure the code stays functional and stable. This approach helps me catch issues early and maintain steady progress throughout development.I’m also eager to connect with fellow developers. Whether it’s for collaboration, sharing insights, or reviewing code, I’m always up for engaging with the coding community.Personal BackgroundOutside of my studies, I’m a stay-at-home mom to two amazing kids, which has taught me a lot about time management, resilience, and the importance of living a playful life.
